If you are new to GeoSec Insights, welcome.

I created this space for people who want to understand what is happening in the world without getting lost in the daily noise. Here, I write about power, strategy, war, alliances, geopolitical risk, and the deeper forces that often shape events long before they reach the headline.

The questions guiding much of my work are simple, even when the answers are not:

Why is this happening?
What forces are behind it?
Who benefits?
What risks are emerging?
And what could come next?

From U.S.–China competition and NATO’s future to Arctic security, space power, the Middle East, energy geopolitics, and the wider return of power politics, the aim is to step back from the immediate noise and look at the bigger strategic picture.
